As a physician, entrepreneur, and father of two, I’ve spent my career helping medical professionals take control of their financial future. My journey into real estate started with Passive Income MD (PIMD), where I educate thousands of doctors on wealth-building strategies. But as I connected with more physicians, I realized they needed more than just education—they needed access to the right opportunities.
That’s why we started Ascent Equity Group. What began as a way for a few peers to invest alongside us has grown into a community with over $450 million in assets under management. Our goal is to provide physicians with a straightforward path to financial independence through real estate, allowing them to build sustainable wealth without sacrificing the careers they’ve worked so hard for.
I’m a hospitalist, entrepreneur, and father of three. My path to real estate wasn’t just about financial growth, it was about having more control over my time.
Growing up, my father worked long hours to provide for our family. I admired his work ethic, but I also saw how much time it took away from us. As I built my own medical career, I realized I was on the same path, working constantly and missing out on important moments. I wanted a way to create financial security without giving up time with my family.
Real estate became that solution for me. It gave me the freedom to practice medicine on my own terms, and now, through Ascent, we help other physicians do the same. Investing doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming. We focus on finding and managing great opportunities so that our investors can build wealth while staying focused on what matters most to them.
I’ve always approached investing with a focus on precision and long-term strategy. That mindset led me to take on the role of Chief Acquisitions Officer at Ascent, where I oversee the underwriting, due diligence, and management of every property we invest in.
As a physician and father of two, I understand the importance of making smart, well-researched financial decisions. That’s why we take a hands-on approach, carefully selecting investments that balance risk and reward. What started as a small group of physicians pooling resources has grown into a company leading multimillion-dollar investments. We’re committed to making real estate investing accessible, strategic, and built for long-term success.
Wilbur brings more than 20 years of commercial real estate investment experience across multiple market cycles and asset classes, including over a decade focused on medical office properties. Throughout his career, he has participated in more than $900 million of transactions spanning medical office, industrial, retail, and multifamily assets.
At Ascent Equity Group, Wilbur leads investment strategy, acquisitions, and underwriting, overseeing the evaluation and structuring of new opportunities and working closely with operating partners to ensure each investment aligns with the firm’s focus on disciplined underwriting, risk management, and long-term value creation.
